Please note that this is a list of groups and missions that are typically active in the life of our church. For the most part, these have all been suspended per the government recommendations that have been put into place during the COVID-19 outbreak. We will all look forward to having all of these groups and activities back in operation as soon as the restrictions have been lifted!

Additionally, please know that we have moved our small group sessions into an online environment for the time being. Please join our Facebook group, "BUMC Small Group Bible Study."

Our "We Care Food Pantry" is currently attempting to remain open during the COVID-19 crisis. Read on:

We Care Food Pantry

The We Care Food Pantry is part of the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank system and is strongly supported by many local organizations and churches. It has served the Baden, Conway and Economy area since the early 1980's. Food distributions are made on the third Monday and Tuesday evenings of each month by appointment. Income limitations apply. One-time emergency food is also available. Please call the church office if we can help you. 724-242-0204.

The We Care Food Pantry helped many families in recent weeks with their groceries during the COVID-19 crisis. With great care and many precauions the clients and volunteers were kept to zero to minimal amount of contact. As of today it is the intentions of the Food Pantry to remain open during this crisis.

Busy Bees

The Busy Bees are an active group of ladies that have touched the lives of thousands of people over the last several decades. In recent years the Bees have focused on making handcrafted lap blankets which are given to individuals, assisted living homes, hospitals and pregnancy centers. The group has given away more than 1000 blankets in the past two years! The ladies meet in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 AM to noon on Thursdays from September through May (weather permitting). If you'd like to help they'd love to have you!

Men's Small Group

A few good men gather on Monday mornings at 10 AM to have focused spiritual conversation. We ask three questions: How are you being blessed? How are you being challenged? How can we pray for you? If you're an adult man you are welcome.

Stephen Ministry

A small group of dedicated individuals have committed themselves to helping others through times of grief, job loss, divorce, family turmoil, any set of circumstances that may cause an person to need a loving Christian confidant to help them through. Stephen Ministers receive significant training and are continually supported by their peers. Please call the church office if you need their services or if you interested in becoming a Stephen Minister.

Alcoholics Anonymous

The longest-running AA meeting in Beaver County meets in the Baden United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall every Sunday at 7:30 PM.

Clothing for the Homeless

The members of Baden United Methodist Church are continually collecting new and gently used seasonally-appropriate clothing, shoes and toiletries for to those who find themselves without shelter. Collected items are shared with the Salvation Army in Beaver Falls, North Side and Hot Metal Bridge Ministries in Pittsburgh.

Kids for Christ

During the post-Christmas slump Baden United Methodist Church offers a bi-weekly opportunity for children K-6th Grade to get out of the house and have some fun. They gather from 6 to 7:30 every other Wednesday evening, January through April, for Bible stories, snacks, crafts and games. Check out the calendar for more specifics.

If you're looking for a low-impact exercise activity this may be just the ticket. Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 (August through May) a group of folks gathers in the Fellowship Hall to line up for Y-M-C-A, the Electric Slide, and a host of other group dances. There's no need to be an expert, just a desire to "shake a leg" and have some friendly fun!
